A Yearlong Senior Portrait Experience with KSP!
We first met Bridgette at a theatre department photo session we took at her high school in February of 2018. From the start, we could see something very special in her. Bridgette is clearly beautiful, but she is also kind, and so strong, dedicated and such a hard worker. She is multi-talented and super involved with her school and the softball community.
A few months later, in April of 2018, we met Bridgette and her mom, Carla, at their in-person consultation. Bridgette was wrapping up her junior year of high school and was very excited to start planning her senior portraits with us. So were we!
At her consultation, we talked with Bridgette and her mom about what is important to them, learning more about who Bridgette is and what their vision was for her photos. We love this time at the consultation to really get to know our clients face to face. To discover what is special and unique about them so we can bring genuine aspects of their personality to their high school senior portraits.
What immediately stood out was Bridgette’s lifetime dedication to softball!
Bridgette has played softball sine she was VERY young. This was the fabric of her life, and her family, as they supported her and her athletic endeavors. But, as we talked, we learned too that there were other attributes to Bridgette and who she is…her love of theatre, especially 7 Brides for 7 Brothers! The fact that she is so down to earth, full of smiles and a contagious joy, it made getting to know her so much fun.
We brainstormed locations that would allow all of who Bridgette is to shine through. Given her love of the outdoors, we set one of her locations at a local park and mixed up her wardrobes to be both stylish and whimsical. The other location would focus on softball. After confirming a date and time, and paying their sitting fee, we were all set to go!
See you in June!
THE ADVENTURE BEGINS!
Bridgette’s session was scheduled for later in the afternoon on June 2, 2018. Our amazing Hair & Makeup artist, Sydni, with Swept Away Styling created a beautiful and natural look for Bridgette’s makeup, featuring her eyes and keeping the rest striking but clean and simple. With all that hair, we decided to put in some curls to give it body and a classic style.
As far as outfits went… Bridgette and Carla took all our suggestions into consideration when it came to picking out the wardrobe. From layers, to bright colors to texture in the clothes she chose…they nailed it! With hair and makeup done…we were off!
Our first stop was to a gorgeous Colorado park with lots of sun, trees and greenery. We went everywhere! From climbing through some brush to a hidden gem of trees with a stand alone wooden fence, to a shallow body of water surrounded by beautiful brush to a classic Colorado park bridge made of steel and wood…it was a long trek through the park, but it was so worth it!
Senior Softball Experience!
For her second location (some extra time her mom paid for) we wanted to set up softball themed photos for Bridgette. So, we chose the other location to be at her high school softball field, with the permission of the coach, and it was so awesome!
Turns out, Carla had saved every single softball jersey Bridgette had ever worn. With a little twine and some clips, we set up this part of her session to fit seamlessly with who Bridgette was as a young girl, all the way to who she is today! It was definitely a family favorite!
IT’S ALL IN THE FAMILY
To wrap it all up, Bridgette also brought along her cousin, who was the same age as her. Their bond was very evident as they goofed around and he popped in for a few sports themed photos!
Whew! And, we were done. For now anyway.
SEEING HER SENIOR PORTRAITS FOR THE 1st TIME!
A few weeks and a very busy softball summer later, we met with Bridgette and her family to watch a short video and view her high school senior portraits at her in-person View & Order appointment.
We sorted out their favorites easily with our Lightroom editing tool and 5 starred the best of the best! Next we looked over the prints and products her parents had wanted to order and created a stunning album featuring several of Bridgette’s favorite senior photos.
We also discussed the customized high school graduation announcements we design here at KSP. The best part is, the template you pick, is yours and yours alone. We don’t use your template for any other high school senior we photograph that year. AND, we place your graduation announcement order at your View & Order appointment, so, come March, all you do is approve the proof and you are done!
SENIOR YEAR BEGINS…AND ENDS!
Bridgette’s high school senior year started in August, and before we knew it, it was March. We tweaked her graduation announcements a little before they were printed. And about 1 week later they had their announcement in hand!
And then it was May, and the whirlwind is upon us.
Bridgette is graduating!
We schedule her cap & gown photos for mid-May (again, these are included in her senior photo sitting fee!) We do this for our seniors, because we know first hand how crazy the actual day of graduation can be. You can barely get a moments peace to take just one picture (with your cell phone) of them in their cap, gown, cords and awards. That’s why we do this for our clients. For moments like this (see below), on a separate day, full of smiles and hope for their amazing future…
Congratulations, Bridgette! We’re so excited for you and all that you will do in this world. You make it a better place just by being you. Remember, with determination, perseverance and courage, you can weather any storm life throws at you and find joy in each moment!
